The Cursed Blue Rose
The west is timber and stone. Boreal forest covers eleven of its twenty charted settlements, with taiga, temperate desert and tundra taking most of the rest. Six of the twenty have no water access at all and live wholly inland; five stand on lakes and four on the ocean. Mining is the first living of nine towns here, more than in any other region of the Atlas, with military service and production behind it. The Frostpeaks run along the region's eastern edge.
Thirteen of the western settlements are Ashanar, five Lohanar and two dwarven. Politically the region is the most evenly divided in the Atlas: Keberun and Saradir hold four towns each, Kabaso and Basaran three apiece, the Infernate two, and the remainder answer elsewhere. Above them the blocs of Torolok and Darolas gather what they can. No one power comes close to holding the west entire.
Saradir is the largest of them, a major city; Linniska, Darolas and Nimanza are substantial. Kotori, Keberun and Kabaso all lie here.
