The Cursed Blue Rose
Everything Leimona has comes out of the ground or off the hoof. The city stands on south-eastern grassland, substantial in size and old enough to have been raised in the first wave of expansion after the original foundations, and its wealth is the plainest kind there is: tilled fields close in, open pasture beyond them, herds driven out and brought back on a schedule the whole year bends around. Sowing, calving, harvest and the movement of stock set the rhythm of work — and the same rhythm sets the rhythm of worship, which in Leimona is not a separate activity.
Leimonese are Suvanar farmers and herders, and religious life is not incidental here; it is one of the three things the city lives on. The Ruby is kept as the Scorchmother, aspect of growth, and her all-female priesthood holds a share of practical authority that a merely ceremonial clergy would not — what is blessed, when, and in what order matters to people whose margin is one bad season. Rule belongs to Tirbasos, and Tirbasos to the bloc of the same name, while the city's allegiance is owed to Soryntha.
