The Cursed Blue Rose
Rain falls on Rindersee most days of the year. The town stands at the centre of the continent, where temperate rainforest runs down to the shore of a lake, and everything here is damp: moss on the shakes, fern in the gutters, timber that never quite dries. Its living comes from underneath. Shafts are driven into the slopes behind the houses and the ore comes down on wet cart-tracks to the waterside. The forest gives a second trade in resin, hardwood and forage, and the lake a third, since Rinderseers build and crew their own boats and float the ore out rather than fight the mud of the overland tracks.
Raised in the fourth wave of expansion, Rindersee is Suvanar and modest, a working town rather than a grand one. It answers to Bannevar, through Bannevar to Eisvelde, and through Eisvelde to the wider Risbern bloc, and a Rinderseer will name all three without embarrassment. The faith kept here is the Radiant Light, and it is kept plainly, with nothing in the observance that would leave a latecomer standing out in the wet.
