The Cursed Blue Rose
The rainforest at the centre of the continent does not thin as it nears the sea. It simply stops at a working waterfront. Eisvelde is a great city built where wet green country meets open ocean, dripping hinterland behind it and deep water ahead. Shipbuilding is the first business and trade the second, and after trade come the workshops that turn cargo into something worth carrying: cordage, cut plank, salted stores. Rain is steady enough that the sheds are roofed and the drying-lofts heated, and Eisvelders work under cover as a matter of course.
Its people are Suvanar, and the city was raised in the fourth wave of expansion, late and unbothered by the fact. Eisvelde holds its own allegiance rather than owing one to a nearer seat, and within the wider Risbern bloc it is the outward hand, the part of the country that deals with other waters. The Radiant Light is the faith here, its halls standing close enough to the quays that the working day and the observance keep the same hours.
