The Cursed Blue Rose
The armour is not the achievement. The needlework is.
Between the Shallow Veil and the Deep stands the Kavacha — a barrier whose name means armour, and which, crucially, is not a natural feature of the world. Somebody put it there. Somebody is holding it shut.
Amyrama is how. The name combines two old words meaning to ward off actively and a stitch sewn through — defensive stitching, the needlework that keeps the armour from unravelling. It is the schema of boundary maintenance, and it is the least celebrated and most consequential practice in Kworgale.
Its practitioners work at breaches: places where the Shallow Veil has thinned, torn, or begun to let through what is on the other side. They set foci, living or material, that hold the tear closed, and then they come back and do it again, because a stitch is not a scar and nothing they make is permanent.
Nobody writes songs about the Amyrama. This is regarded within the practice as evidence that it is working.
