The Cursed Blue Rose
Thin soil, a short growing season and a river that runs hard for most of the year: that is the ground Tunnata was given. The city sits at a bend in the water, in taiga country of slow-grown spruce and birch, where the frost leaves late and returns early. Almost nothing here can be farmed at scale, so the people work material instead of soil. Logs come down on the current to the saws, the same current turns the wheels, and in the yards behind them raw timber, resin and hide go in while finished goods come out, floated onward before the freeze closes the route.
Tunnata belongs to the fifth and most recent wave of expansion, among the newest foundations set down in the north. Its people are elves, long-lived enough to treat a workshop as something that outlasts the hands in it, and unhurried about work that will not be finished this season. The city answers to Glac Dom, and what leaves the yards goes out by the same water that carried the raw material in.
