The Cursed Blue Rose
North of the last spruce, where the taiga gives out and the ground is ice to every horizon, Frostdeep Eternum stands on the white. Nothing grows within reach of it. There is no forest to cut, no field to sow, no open water to fish, so what the place eats and burns comes in from far behind it and is counted carefully when it arrives. The building is set against cold before anything else: thick walls, deep floors, heat hoarded and shared, doorways turned out of the wind that comes off the flat.
The raising of it belongs to the third wave of expansion, and both peoples had a hand in the work. Elf and dwarf craft stand side by side in it, and both hold the ground still, wintering where neither could winter alone. What Frostdeep Eternum does is not harvest, not trade and not garrison duty; its business is its own, and the ice is the only neighbour it has. The holding answers to Glac Dom.
